The forthcoming yes no in out EU referendum will show a photo of UKIP leader Nigel Farage with a simple question “Do you trust this twat?” according to a press release today by the elections watchdog.
A spokesman for the watchdog told us “We haven’t made this decision lightly. We started with ‘Yes I don’t want to be in the EU’, or ‘No I do’, and then moved on to ‘Yes I want Britain to be so isolationist that I never see a foreigner and thus don’t have to come to terms with my own inherent racism’ or ‘No thank you I want to go inter-railing’. Even we were confused. But it’s not about that. It’s about whether you like Nigel. You either hang on his every petty xenophobic word or you somewhat disagree with him. Yes or no. Jobs a good’un.”
Despite his popular jingoistic rhetoric and beagle like features even Farage’s own supporters have expressed concerns that even after an EU exit, he might carry on wittering on about stuff.
One supporter told us “I’m happy for him to take us out of Europe. But it’s not clear whether he’s going to come here or stay there. I’m hoping with a name like Farage he’ll stay over in Brussels. I for one don’t really want to be stuck on a relatively small island with him shouting away and no racial diversity.”
