The plucky people of Peterborough have voted decidedly for the abolition of the NHS and for holidays abroad to be even more expensive than they are now.
One Peterborough resident told us “I voted for Brexit last time. I voted for Brexit this time. I’ll vote for Brexit next time. I’ll vote for Brexit even if there isn’t an election. And I have done. We’re not happy with the status quo. So we’re going to make it shitter. And anyone who disagrees is a traitor.”
New Brexit party MP Mike Greene said “It’s one in the eye for the remoaning snowflake liberal elite leftards. I’m assuming everyone who voted for me is rich and has private health insurance.”
However, health insurance or not, people gathering outside Peterborough town hall were already celebrating the results which are thought to have sent a shock wave through the establishment or something.
One supporter said “Have any of these Westminster politicians tried living in Peterborough? It has its up points but on the whole the best you can hope for is an early death. Obviously free healthcare is just going to prolong the agony so it’s Brexit party all the way for us.”
Some have argued that the by-election itself is an affront to democracy.
“I don’t know why we are having a vote in the first place. We had a vote in 2016. Any subsequent vote of any description is defying the will of the people . Even if it is defying the will of the people by agreeing with them.”
