Media mogul Rupert Murdoch and actress-model Jerry Hall are to have an extended honeymoon in Milton Keynes following their recently announced wedding, planned for later on in the year.
One News Corp insider said “They’ve been to every posh restaurant and stayed in every 6 star hotel on the planet. They shit opulence. I think now they want to shun the materialistic world that they embody. Sometimes you just want to go down to popular nightspot The Point and enjoy a burger and a pint deal, before seeing the sights of Milton Keynes from the back of a Vauxhall Vectra. It’s not about money. It’s about their love.”
Their time together in the 1980s new town is hardly going to be frugal, with Central Milton Keynes and it’s quarter mile long indoor shopping centre on their doorstep. “It’s got Boots and WH Smith for starters. They’re going to shop until they drop, I would imagine.”
“There’s the concrete cows that they can go and see if they want to see some concrete cows. And if they want an open air concert there’s always the Bowl. Marillion played there in the 1980s.”
Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Keith McLean, said he was honoured but not surprised that the celebrity pair had chosen his home town for their post-nuptials.
“It’s a great place to be. We’re prepared to offer them exclusivity of the entire town and ship all the locals out at gunpoint, putting them in forced labour camps, to make their holiday all the more relaxing.” He explained.
