“Stop naming us” say MPs who voted for disability benefit cuts

disability benefits

Conservative MPs who voted for £30 a week cuts in benefits for disabled people have asked today for people to stop naming them on social media so they can continue to claim huge expenses and lie about giving a shit.

London Mayoral candidate Zac Goldsmith angrily hit back that there were any conflicts of interest in his patronage of a disability charity. “What’s £30 anyway? I claim that for my pre-dinner drinks on a week-night. But putting it on twitter makes it look like a lot. It’s completely unfair and unrepresentative. People need to stop noticing these things.”

Indeed the sentiment has been echoed throughout the country amongst MPs made to feel mean by people noticing that they voted to effectively withdraw support from some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Nick Boles MP who claimed over £140,000 in expenses last year said that he was shocked, outraged and appalled that his name had been plastered over Facebook.

“Facebook should be ashamed of themselves. What about that tax deal we did for them? I’m off to voice my indignation to other like minded people over an evening of publicly funded champagne and canapés.”

Portsmouth South MP, Flick Drummond, said “I care deeply. When I was out having dinner in a Michelin starred restaurant recently, on parliamentary business and subsequently claiming the whole thing on expenses, I considered the plight of disabled people and one solitary tear rolled down my cheek, at least metaphorically. I had to ask the waiter to wipe it from my cheek with a gold embossed napkin. Then I came up with a snide comment about them probably causing the 2007 credit crunch through their laziness, threw my head back and laughed like a horse. But that’s no reason to put my picture on Facebook along with facts about my voting habits.”

  1. Iain McEwan says:

Thats Iain Duncan Smith he was the one that brought in PIP for the disabled and Universal when he was in charge of DWP being disabled I sadly am with Neoropathic syndrum. what I recieve I find very substantial and satisfying am not a tory just telling the truth ..

  2. Fuck em,. Round em up, hang em upside down from lampposts, and use em for target practice.

  3. The list I would like to see is the M,P,s who voted in favour of their massive pay increase. I think comparison of the two lists would be interesting.

  4. It’s our right to know how they are voting, we gave them their jobs, so if their not acting on our behalf, then we have the right not to return them to office.

  7. Hi everybody,

I am the editor of a new publication. We went live yesterday. It is a literary publication that reviews literature and film. There is an interesting piece which I am sure everybody here will be interested in. It is a review on the Daniel Blake film by Ken Loach. The more attraction we get concerning this issue, the better. Here is the link: http://theilr.weebly.com/a-tale-of-conscious-cruelty.html

if anybody would like the link to the entire site…do let me know and I will happily post.

  8. Our MP’s are meant to serve the population not leech off it! How about we set up a petition calling for all MP’s expenses to be scrapped! They earn enough, let them pay for their own damn lunches!

  9. I am a journalist and editor and I will be publishing these names on the launch of our site…it is a literary publication but we are reviewing the new Ken Loach film so we will publish these names, as well as some of the poor victims that took their own lives. I will also put it on my blog…I will post the link on the launch…20th November.

  10. The £30.00 that arrogant Goldsmith pays for his weekday pre dinner drinks is close to what I use to keep food in my fridge for a full month not just on a drink the piss artist to him £30.00 might not be a lot of money but to some of us its a LOT of money

  11. Reblogged this on jaxlb.

  12. no way you should be named and shamed

    • Nick Boles MP wanker along with the rest who voted. There PUBLIC SERVANTS the clue is the word public

    • They should be made to live on benefits for 6 Months in a crap estate near the Elephant and Castle so they could walk to Parliament, and no poncing off their rich pals

      • There have been programmes made for tv (for entertainment) about mp’s and others living off benefits for a period of time, of course they always say they can manage quite adequately. After a month they go back to their cushy lives, patting themselves on the back for having been one of the great unwashed, with their superior intellect they have done alright Jack. Let them try year after year with no well paid job and overlarge house or well stocked cupboards. How well would they do then. Face up to it British Public, the “we care about you” and “party of the blue collar” workers is FALLACY. It’s aimed at keeping the sheep quiet so they’ll all say “BAA” nicely at the elections. We live in a capitalist society, ergo the ones with the capital are the important people who can contribute to economic growth and the net national profit. They are the ones who are courted by government policies. Everyone who falls below being financially independent is a drone. They cannot be milked for their cash – they need to be given it to make ends meet.. If you fall into that category you are not important so don’t expect any favours, you are a drain on the country. We can blame Thatcher for that.
All MP’s votes should be recorded and available to all the public. That would show up the difference between what they SAY to us and what they actually do; highlight the deceit and lies. Will it ever happen? Don’t hold your breath.

    • Why ever not if you really believe that you are doing a good and moral thing?

  13. Unbelievable!!! Many people have less than £30 to feed their families for a week!

And as for demanding that we stop publishing their expenses claims. WE pay them to represent US!!!!

We have the right to call them to account!

They are there to serve the people not rule them!

That what democracy means – rule of the people (demos).

Trouble is the Tories (and the Labour rebels) seem to think we are an aristocracy – (rule of the aristocrats).

  14. Well done keep naming them to remind the public what a bunch of hypocrites the Tories are.

    • Yes and we must keep naming them~ people have died because of their cutbacks, They should be charged for manslaughter~Next time they go out and claim for breakfast/ lunch and whatever else they should remember and think about all the people on the breadline and going to food banks through their Illegal? cutbacks! YOU TORY SCUM ARE TOTAL SCROUNGERS DON’T TRY TO DENY IT!!!!OR ARE YOU FEELING GUILTY NOW THE WHOLE COUNTRY KNOWS THE TRUTH ABOUT YOU?

    • Numb Nuts read the very top of the page. You know the bit where it says “The news they dont want you to hear. Because it isn’t true” OMG this is a parody

      • Rob, just thought that I would clarify, though this is a humourous take on the expenses v voting for cuts it doesn’t mean that the actual basis for the naming and shaming is not true. They still get ridiculous expenses paid for and yet they still felt no qualms when cutting benefits to those most in need and I read this morning that they are going to do more stringent cuts. “Laughing all the way to the bank” springs to mind.

      • Actually the only element of this piece that could be untrue is that they would even give a monkey’s about being named and shamed

    • I agree but its not just the Tories the whole system is corrupt

  15. Awesome stuff, inspiring me in New Zealand to do some more guerrilla protest missions against our mean arrogant elitist government who also are screwing over disabled people like myself. I chalk the streets here, write poetry and songs, get arrested repeatedly for legal protests and educate myself. Figured if they won’t help me work I’ll be biggest pain the a… I can be. Kia kaha to us all

Also have a passion for law, did you know that the first imperial law that started Westminster law was in 1275 and says, The King willeth and commandeth that common right be done to all, rich as poor. As disabled people on welfare are poor and the people making this law are rich, pretty sure we can say common right isn’t being done. Also pretty sure that means NONE of those poor being affected have to listen to any law – can’t wait until people realise this – and or some ethical legal people challenge it in court.

Then of course there is Magna Carta (800 yrs) and the FACT you are not allowed to destroy people and they have to have access to justice. That’s not happening in New Zealand so I assume same over there. Only way to stop these radicalised tory terrorists against poor is the law.

    The list goes on:

List of Welfare related deaths of the UK’s sick and disabled

    • Isn’t causing death by neglect, manslaughter?
As for the naming and shaming of those twisted pieces of humanity that voted to allow it, I think Zach Goldsmith has a point. We should have stripped, tarred and feathered the pocket filling hypocrites, before dropping them into the Thames for an early morning swim. Obviously, this suggestion is purely sarcasm, as I would never condone the contamination of the river.

      • No this is state sponsored corporate manslaughter at best and 2nd degree murder at worst as this is done with implicate knowledge that this could happen.

    • It is horrific.

  18. with all the petitions falling on deaf ears at 10 Downing St. maybe a vote of no confidence should be sent to the Queen, after all, PMs have to get her Majesty’s permission to form a government.

  19. Reblogged this on garethcole.

  20. Name them and shame them all. But people need to understand you get what you vote for and if you voted for these self righteous imbeciles they will drop one on you.

    • as true as that maybe, you do know there is documented evidence that the election was rigged.? i agree they self righteous imbeciles that will drop one on us. but isn’t wrong taking cuts from people who can’t fight back.

  21. Keep it going feel so sorry for their life style they should try living mine and i work for min wage 40 mile round trip to get a job.

    • Min wage and a 40 mile round trip? Sounds like the sort of thing you should be angry about and leading the protest from the front rather just taking it and sitting back while you and the rest of us suffer. It’s people like yourself that allow things like this to happen isn’t it? Just a thought…..

  22. ha ha stop naming them ahahaahaha hell no all should be named and shamed disgusting rats that you are, how about you stop self indulging your own pockets with tax payers money then. and you lot think you have the audacity to say, stop name you get lost. you have no right, you so called work for the people if you call what you work. we don’t work for you. so name and shame the lot of you free loading scum. the names of them are.
