Conservative MPs who voted for £30 a week cuts in benefits for disabled people have asked today for people to stop naming them on social media so they can continue to claim huge expenses and lie about giving a shit.
London Mayoral candidate Zac Goldsmith angrily hit back that there were any conflicts of interest in his patronage of a disability charity. “What’s £30 anyway? I claim that for my pre-dinner drinks on a week-night. But putting it on twitter makes it look like a lot. It’s completely unfair and unrepresentative. People need to stop noticing these things.”
Indeed the sentiment has been echoed throughout the country amongst MPs made to feel mean by people noticing that they voted to effectively withdraw support from some of the most vulnerable people in society.
Nick Boles MP who claimed over £140,000 in expenses last year said that he was shocked, outraged and appalled that his name had been plastered over Facebook.
“Facebook should be ashamed of themselves. What about that tax deal we did for them? I’m off to voice my indignation to other like minded people over an evening of publicly funded champagne and canapés.”
Portsmouth South MP, Flick Drummond, said “I care deeply. When I was out having dinner in a Michelin starred restaurant recently, on parliamentary business and subsequently claiming the whole thing on expenses, I considered the plight of disabled people and one solitary tear rolled down my cheek, at least metaphorically. I had to ask the waiter to wipe it from my cheek with a gold embossed napkin. Then I came up with a snide comment about them probably causing the 2007 credit crunch through their laziness, threw my head back and laughed like a horse. But that’s no reason to put my picture on Facebook along with facts about my voting habits.”

It’s our right to know how they are voting, we gave them their jobs, so if their not acting on our behalf, then we have the right not to return them to office.

Our MP’s are meant to serve the population not leech off it! How about we set up a petition calling for all MP’s expenses to be scrapped! They earn enough, let them pay for their own damn lunches!

Absolutely…set up a petition…Greedy politicians fleecing the tax payers with expenses claims…subsidised meals and drinks in the houses of parliaments…why not also petition also about the outrageous expenses the crony lords claim.

There have been programmes made for tv (for entertainment) about mp’s and others living off benefits for a period of time, of course they always say they can manage quite adequately. After a month they go back to their cushy lives, patting themselves on the back for having been one of the great unwashed, with their superior intellect they have done alright Jack. Let them try year after year with no well paid job and overlarge house or well stocked cupboards. How well would they do then. Face up to it British Public, the “we care about you” and “party of the blue collar” workers is FALLACY. It’s aimed at keeping the sheep quiet so they’ll all say “BAA” nicely at the elections. We live in a capitalist society, ergo the ones with the capital are the important people who can contribute to economic growth and the net national profit. They are the ones who are courted by government policies. Everyone who falls below being financially independent is a drone. They cannot be milked for their cash – they need to be given it to make ends meet.. If you fall into that category you are not important so don’t expect any favours, you are a drain on the country. We can blame Thatcher for that.
All MP’s votes should be recorded and available to all the public. That would show up the difference between what they SAY to us and what they actually do; highlight the deceit and lies. Will it ever happen? Don’t hold your breath.

Rob, just thought that I would clarify, though this is a humourous take on the expenses v voting for cuts it doesn’t mean that the actual basis for the naming and shaming is not true. They still get ridiculous expenses paid for and yet they still felt no qualms when cutting benefits to those most in need and I read this morning that they are going to do more stringent cuts. “Laughing all the way to the bank” springs to mind.
Actually the only element of this piece that could be untrue is that they would even give a monkey’s about being named and shamed

Also have a passion for law, did you know that the first imperial law that started Westminster law was in 1275 and says, The King willeth and commandeth that common right be done to all, rich as poor. As disabled people on welfare are poor and the people making this law are rich, pretty sure we can say common right isn’t being done. Also pretty sure that means NONE of those poor being affected have to listen to any law – can’t wait until people realise this – and or some ethical legal people challenge it in court.
Then of course there is Magna Carta (800 yrs) and the FACT you are not allowed to destroy people and they have to have access to justice. That’s not happening in New Zealand so I assume same over there. Only way to stop these radicalised tory terrorists against poor is the law.
Who voted for these parasites, its your shame, not theirs, this was not a conscience decision, it was whipped by the party Bastards.

* Mark Wood, 44. Found fit for work by Atos, against his Doctors advice and assertions that he had complex mental health problems. Starved to death after benefits stopped, weighing only 5st 8lb when he died.
* Paul Reekie, 48, the Leith based Poet and Author. Suffered from severe depression. Committed suicide after DWP stopped his benefits due to an Atos ‘fit for work’ decision.
* Leanne Chambers, 30. Suffered depression for many years which took a turn for the worst when she was called in for a WCA. Leanne committed suicide soon after.
* Karen Sherlock, 44. Multiple health issues. Found fit for work by Atos and denied benefits. Fought a long battle to get placed into the support group of ESA. Karen died the following month of a heart attack.
* Carl Payne, 42. Fears of losing his lifeline benefits due to welfare reform led this Father of two to take his own life.
* Tim Salter, 53. Blind and suffering from Agoraphobia. Tim hanged himself after Atos found him fit for work and stopped his benefits.
* Edward Jacques, 47 years old and suffering from HIV and Hepatitis C. Edward had a history of severe depression and self-harm. He took a fatal overdose after Atos found him fit for work and stopped his benefits.
* Linda Wootton, 49 years old. A double heart and lung transplant patient. Died just nine days after the government found her fit for work, their refusal letter arriving as she lay desperately ill in her hospital bed.
* Steven Cawthra, 55. His benefits stopped by the DWP and with rising debts, he saw suicide as the only way out of a desperate situation.
* Elenore Tatton, 39 years old. Died just weeks after the government found her fit for work.
* John Walker, 57, saddled with debt because of the bedroom tax, John took his own life.
* Brian McArdle, 57 years old. Suffered a fatal heart attack the day after his disability benefits were stopped.
* Stephen Hill, 53. Died of a heart attack one month after being found fit for work, even though he was waiting for major heart surgery.
* Jacqueline Harris, 53. A former Nurse who could hardly walk was found fit for work by Atos and her benefits withdrawn. in desperation, she took her own life.
* David Barr, 28. Suffering from severe mental difficulties. Threw himself from a bridge after being found fit for work by Atos and failing his appeal.
* David Groves, 56. Died of a heart attack the night before taking his work capability assessment. His widow claimed that it was the stress that killed him.
* Nicholas Peter Barker, 51. Shot himself after being told his benefits were being stopped. He was unable to work after a brain haemorrhage left him paralysed down one side.
* Mark and Helen Mullins, 48 and 59 years old. Forced to live on £57.50 a week and make 12 mile trips each week to get free vegetables to make soup. Mark and Helen both committed suicide.
* Richard Sanderson, 44. Unable to find a job and with his housing benefit cut forcing him to move, but with nowhere to go. Richard committed suicide.
* Martin Rust, 36 years old. A schizophrenic man who killed himself two months after the government found him fit to work.
* Craig Monk, 43. A vulnerable gentleman and a partial amputee who slipped so far into poverty that he hanged himself.
* Colin Traynor, 29, and suffering from epilepsy was stripped of his benefits. He appealed. Five weeks after his death his family found he had won his appeal.

As for the naming and shaming of those twisted pieces of humanity that voted to allow it, I think Zach Goldsmith has a point. We should have stripped, tarred and feathered the pocket filling hypocrites, before dropping them into the Thames for an early morning swim. Obviously, this suggestion is purely sarcasm, as I would never condone the contamination of the river.
No this is state sponsored corporate manslaughter at best and 2nd degree murder at worst as this is done with implicate knowledge that this could happen.
